noun
/ˈtrɔ·mə,ˈtraʊ.mə/
Trauma is an emotional response to an event or series of events that are deeply distressing or disturbing to an individual. This can range from one-time incidents, such as accidents, natural disasters, or violent attacks, to ongoing stressors, such as chronic illness, emotional abuse, or living in a conflict zone.
Trauma is not defined solely by the event itself but by the individual's experience of it. Two people can undergo the same event, yet their psychological and emotional responses may differ significantly. Trauma can disrupt the individual's sense of safety, leading to feelings of helplessness and a diminished sense of self and can affect one's ability to cope with and enjoy day-to-day life.
The impact of trauma can be immediate or delayed, with symptoms surfacing long after the traumatic event has passed, where the effects of trauma become deeply integrated into an individual's identity and way of interacting with the world.
Trauma can deeply affect our bodies, minds, and emotions, often in ways we might not fully understand, and can have profound long-term implications for individuals, including:

Mental Health Challenges
Chronic Illness
Physical Health Issues
Emotional Regulation Difficulties
Relationship Challenges
Substance Use & Abuse
Impaired Sense of Self

Physical trauma results from bodily harm or injury, such as accidents, assaults, or medical procedures. The physical pain and recovery process can also lead to emotional distress.

Emotional trauma arises from experiences that leave a person feeling overwhelmed, helpless or threatened. This can include abuse, neglect, loss, or witnessing violence.

TRAUMA BACKPACK
FEELS HEAVY

We all carry an invisible "backpack" filled with our past experiences, including traumas. This backpack can feel heavy and affect how we navigate life's challenges. By understanding the impact of trauma, we can learn to unpack it and develop resilience.

In 2018/19, stress, depression or anxiety were responsible for 44% of all cases of work-related ill health and 54% of all working days lost due to health issues.

There's been a 25% global increase in depression and anxiety since 2020

Outraged that one in seven 10-19-year-olds experience a mental disorder.

Outraged that public sector organizations such as the police and health care practitioners do not receive compulsory training on trauma informed awareness and practice.

Outraged that 12 billion working days are lost every year to depression and anxiety alone.
These alarming statistics reveal a disturbing truth: A mental health crisis is unfolding before our eyes. An avoidable crisis, no less. But our outrage is only useful if it spurs us into ACTION.

Hello, I’m a Somatic Trauma-Informed Mental Wellbeing Practitioner and a Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Specialist. I help women who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unseen—those who are constantly pouring into others while silently falling apart inside. If you’re juggling work, motherhood, and relationships and still feel like it’s never enough, you’re not alone.
Over the past three years, I’ve lived through heartbreaking loss and moments of deep isolation—times when I felt completely unseen, like no one could possibly understand. My little brother passed away and shortly after, I went through a painful divorce from a ten year marriage. I had to rebuild my life from the ground up while caring for my four young children, all under the age of eight. In order to survive, I went numb. I fell into a state of functional freeze—doing what needed to be done, but feeling completely disconnected inside.
Eventually, I realized I couldn’t stay stuck forever. That’s when I began to learn about trauma and the nervous system. My healing journey began when I discovered how trauma shapes our thoughts, our behaviors, and our sense of safety—and how we can work with our nervous system to release even the oldest, most painful wounds. Through somatic practices, nervous system regulation, and deep self-compassion, I began to heal the grief, shame, and emotional pain I once thought would consume me.
After navigating some of the darkest seasons of my life, I found the strength to rise on my own and turn my pain into purpose. I retired form being a stay at home mom and I earned my teaching certification, landed great job at a great school and started up my coaching business. Today, I’m also a proud brand partner with one of the fastest-growing mental wellness franchises in the UK: The Mental Wellbeing Company.
Now, I help other women rise to become stronger than the storm, because I want to make sure no one feels as lonely and isolated as I did. You deserve to feel safe, seen, and empowered in your own life. If you’re feeling stuck in a toxic or unfulfilling relationship, weighed down by self-doubt, or held back by past trauma, you don’t have to stay there. Through my personalized coaching process, I’ll help you manage stress, set boundaries without guilt, and reconnect with who you truly are so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and the emotional freedom you deserve.
When you’re ready, I’m here to walk beside you, to help you take your life back and create the life you truly deserve. The best is yet to come!
